What we say...
New from MacGregor last year, the M685 irons have a forged cavity back which uses a top quality Rifle shaft to great effect. A chunky, butch-looking head with a small amount of offset that delivers a powerful yet forgiving ball flight. While being simple and unfussy the MacGregor M685 fails to stand out from the crowd. The price is very competitive and for this level of golf iron could be the deciding factor.
High launch and distance in the long irons and control in the short irons. Hollow-body structure (3-6 irons) give a high rebound face for maximum forgiveness.

I admit after my v-foil 675 irons i am a macgregor fanboy now with Ping i3 blade and s59 and callaway big bertha before so it isnt on price i got but quality of club I play of 7 and dropping and these are the nicest clubs i have ever hit .I cant believe i picked them up for £130 like new and had them adjusted to my requirements. These are very easy hitting forged clubs and fly of the face and look superb at address which is important to me . I am all macgregor in my bag now with the exception of my KZG gem2 driver which i have benchtested with most current drivers and it always keeps its slot in the bag. Buy these and at under £200 they are an absoloute steal

I was looking to replace my old Wilson Progressive irons (cavity back to blades) and liked the look of the Pi7s but not the price!! Came across the Macgregors for £199 at Direct Golf with Rifle shafts - bargain!! Feel off the clubface is great and my short game has improved no end. Long irons are easy to hit with a very penetrating flight. Overall fantastic value for such great quality.

with rifle shafts in these are great clubs. Great feel, inspire confidence behind the ball and forgiving considering they are forged!

These Mactec M685 irons are a delight to use - sits well behind the ball and the build quality is clear to see. I play off 16 and it is my first venture into forged clubs wish I had done so before judging by these beaties. Although not a top brand name Macgregor make some wonderful kit and I can even hit the 3&4 irons consistently.

Tried loads, RAC LT2's, Mizuno MX23's, PING G5's, these came out best for feel, flight and forgiveness (Srixon i506's came close. Seriously, give these a try, you will be pleasantly surprised.
