What we say...
“Who?” That was the reaction when our testers picked up the Forgan IWD Irons. However, “solid” and “delightful” soon followed. These high MOI, deep-cavity irons produced the goods with only slight criticism from John that they lacked a little feel off the face.

2010 Review:
Our trio really weren’t keen on the green graphics, but with the lower price point and the excellent performance, getting over that is something that’s well worth considering. Craig thought the irons had a really solid, forgiving feel while Colin liked the weight and balance of the head through the swing. A decent set at a great price.

The signature Forgan IWD irons are the ultimate in forgiveness and design using every one of the company's 150 years experience in club manufacture.
A classic deep-cavity back, thin top line and wide sole plate combine to produce high MOI - the highest Forgan has ever produced - and forgiveness on off-centre hits without losing accuracy or distance.
This great looking club is a must for the game improver keen to experience the benefits of custom fit at a great price. Aldila graphite shafts are an optional addition.
The Forgan IWD Irons are available in graphite for £229.99

Was upgrading from a package set and saw these online. They took my custom fitting measurements and i found there online fitting wizard highly accurate actually giving the same results as an actual golf store. These clubs are great! They have a lovely soft feel at impact and really have a nice ball flight. For the price the clubs have extremely high build quality, I went for the True Temper s300 shafts and i have never looked back.Great heads! Great shafts! And a golf pride grip! all for £230.

A previous reviewer commented on a loss of length with these clubs. This is probably because they have more traditional, weaker lofts than some other manufacturers' clubs. Hence you might have to hit a 7 iron rather than an 8 iron, but the long irons are easier to hit and you don't get a huge gap between the wedge and the sand iron, so that you have to buy a gap wedge!

Bought a set of these based on the past magazine review and test results. Results are very disappointing with a significant loss of distance i.e. about two clubs shorter. The Apollo steel shafts have very little feel almost like clubs fitted with brush shafts.A possible explanation for this apparent poor performance compared to the review results may be that the clubs tested by the magazine were not actually fitted with these Apollo steel shafts. This is supported by the review in the May 2010 edition which states that the shaft colour was green. This is the colour of the graphite shaft used in this iron set and the set price for graphite is not the £159.99 stated in the review but significantly higher at £229.99. So I suspect that the clubs tested were graphite shafted but the price quoted in the review was for the cheaper steel shafted clubs. Altogether an experience that reinforces the advice that one should try before you buy.

I ordered a set of these custom made clubs with graphite shafts on the strength of your reviews. They arrived within 3 working days and were well packaged. They really are excellent and I can even hit the 3-iron long and generally straight. This is not purely down to custom fitting by the way, as I came out as standard length, lie and grip size. Minor Gripes: The lurid green colour scheme on the grips, shafts and the back of the clubhead. They have a tad too much offset for my taste. The black finish on the insert in the back of the sole is already wearing off. Impact with the ball sometimes feels a bit clicky However for the price I have no complaints, and I am sure they will reduce my handicap.

Having been away from playing on a regular basis for a few years, I have recently got the golf bug back. As i was struggling to get any consistency back with my Mizuno MX15 irons that had served me well, I thought it was time to get some new clubs. I looked at various makes and came across these Forgan IWD irons whilst trawling the internet and thought that at the price and the custom fitting options on their website I would give them a try. Well all I can say is WOW, these have to be the easiest clubs to hit that I have ever come across, the ball flies off the face with such ease that you dont feel you need to put any effort in at all. Even with offf centre hits the ball still flies. Also they have added around 20 yards distance on each club, I hit the 5 iron on my local 200 yard par 3 hole over the back of the green. In my 5 rounds with them I have not hit one shot that i would be disapointed with. So overall these are great clubs and very highly recommended

Bought these as part of a new full set - Absolutely Fantastic!!!!! Nice weight, very well balanced feel to them and very forgiving, the wide sole really reduces drag and minimises miss hits. They have certainly helped me improve my consistency, fantastic for distance, easily hit a 7 iron 160yds into a headwind on my last outing. Very well made, brilliant value for money and the online custom fit guide was a piece of cake. The woods and putter I also bought are as equally as good. Brilliant!
