TG Tester: James Ridyard

It’s very long from heel to toe combined with a shallow face, an unusual design. It actually performed pretty well, offering a high flight and lots of forgiveness.

See how the irons got on in our 2015 Game Improvement Irons Test!

Delivers consistently higher trajectories throughout the set for the ultimate in ‘Easy Distance’ from tee to green. The Hollow Cavity Construction and progressive offset design allows for added forgiveness in the long irons, whilst improving playability in the shorter irons.

Found this easy to hit and distance was consistent, unfortunately for me it was a long way behind the Fly-Z model. It’s slimmer than other models in the category and I like the soft feel, too.

Clubhead looked smaller than others in the category, with a rounded head shape. When I squared the clubface at impact, something that didn’t happen enough, it went pretty far. Felt really nice from the middle, solid and powerful, it was just a shame I couldn’t control my misses.
