What we say...

Adams’ new XTD CC irons are the first in the industry to feature a cross-cavity design, combined with “Cut-Thru” velocity slots. The idea is to create distance through technology instead of strengthened lofts.

The XTD houses the brand’s thinnest cast face to date, promoting more ball speed. Each club is engineered to promote the ideal trajectory, seeking to combine explosive height off the face, penetrating ball flight and more preferable descent for attacking the pin.

Constructed for players of all skill levels, XTD irons boast a centre of gravity moved back from the face. This was done to generate “gear effect” similar to a hybrid. The result is corrective spin to straighten off-centre hits.

According to Adams, shifting the CG to a more ideal location also helps get the ball in the air faster and stabilises the club at impact, especially on off-centre strikes, adding to consistency throughout the set.

Details: Available April 2014 in 4-PW. RRP: £499.99 with KBS Tour 90 steel shafts and £599 with Matrix Program Q series graphite shafts.
