What we say...
Tech:
Distance without compromise say Titleist. A slightly larger profile inspires confidence while an Active Recoil Channel in the sole and high speed face insert ensure high ball speeds across the entire face. A low CG delivers forgiveness and stability for excellent ball speed retention.
Our verdict:
Many golfers have the perception Titleist only make equipment for better players, its certainly not true and if there’s any clubs in their range to prove it the 915 fairway and the AP1 irons are the stand out performers. All three testers thought the mid-footprint of the 915 was just as playable as many of the other fairway’s on test, and would perform just as well from the short grass and as it could from the tee box on knee knocking drives. As far as data goes the 915F recorded numbers just above our average for carry distance and ball speed proving there’s fire in its belly even in the hands of amateurs and Simon’s lower swing speed.
Bottom line:
There’s nothing to not like about the 915’s it’s really simple, straight-forward and honest. As solid as it was our testers thought against plenty of stiff competition there were other models of fairway they’d probably pick for their own bags.
