What we say...
First Hit October 2012
Every year MD’S gear seems to get better and better, so when the boys over the Irish Sea gave us a call about their new range of Superstrong woods, we were eagerly anticipating the delivery of some samples.
We weren’t disappointed when they landed.
White may be all the rage, but MD’s flagship series of woods feature a stunning black head. The fairway woods – an absolute bargain at less than £75 per club – offer impressive performances. Like the driver, they feature a tungsten weight screw in the sole to lower the centre of gravity for a higher ball flight.
It just seemed to go forever, and hang in the air too – perfect for attacking those par 5s. I also used it reasonably effectively off the tee, but I would suggest its best performance came off the deck.
All woods feature a super colourful yellow Proforce 65 shaft which stands out a mile – it won’t be a hit with everyone, but I thought it looked great on what scream ‘premium product’.
We always bang on about the price of MD Golf gear but the fact is we reckon they could charge more for it and still sell the same amount. It’s that good! So if you’re on a budget, you’ll be in safe hands with their woods; superb, and won’t break the bank.
What more could you ask for in this expensive modern world?
First Impressions
Pros: Stunning matt black finish belies the price and with performance to match.
Cons: I liked the bright shaft and felt it gave a premium feel, but it might not appeal to all golfers.
Improving on the 2012 superstrong ST2 fairway wood was a hard task but MD Golf have delivered on both looks and performance with the new 2013 ST3 model
A shallower club face and a more compact head shape make this the ideal fairway wood from the tee or a tight fairway lie. The 2013 ST3 fairway wood is aerodynamically styled to ensure maximum performance shape and coupled with striking new cosmetics and new weighting System, this help with straigher and longer hitting.
MD Golf ST3 Fairway comes in 15 degree and 18 degree options with a UST Proforce 63 regular or stiff shaft and UST Multi Compound yellow and black grip.

Bought this for less than £30 new, based on some magazine reviews. It outperforms all expectations. Long off the tee, controllable from the fairway, and consistently comfortable. Great, low flight. Cannot praise this club higher!
