What we say...

It probably shouldn’t come as any surprise to see John Letters bagging an award here. The company has a long history of making good golf clubs and they are always very competitively priced.

They maybe don’t get as much attention as they deserve but all our testers felt this would be a really good option in the bag at this price. John Letters have managed to pack a decent amount of technology into the stainless steel head including a power bar in the crown.

George Sadowski (8hcp): A lovely looking club but then because I like blue maybe I’m a little biased! There was a great feel from this and even the bad shots I hit gave surprising results. Very, very good club.

Ian Davies (15hcp): This is another club I find it hard to pick faults with! It really was a terrific all-round performer, nicely weighted and really forgiving. I was very surprised with this club.

David Connor (10hcp): Another surprise package and performance-wise this did very well. I felt it lacked a little bit in terms of feel off the face but you can’t argue with the results. Top club at this price.

James Frow (Belfry Pro): Again, I thought this felt quite dead off the face and the sound was more of a dull thud. I thought the sole was quite rounded and I prefer a flatter sole. It did perform reasonably well though.

VERDICT: The blue finish and deep face didn’t win favour. The team struggled off the deck with it and that’s reflected in the results.
