What we say...

Tech:

The GBB combines all Callaway’s best technologies in a single head. A Hyper Speed Cup face maximises ball speeds across the face while a modern Warbird sole makes it easy to hit. A larger head increases MOI for more forgiveness and an adjustable 8 way hosel lets you dial in a specific loft to suit your own game.

Our verdict:

The original Great Big Bertha fairways with their Warbird soles are part of golfing folklore, legend has it they were pretty awesome. Because of the history we had some pretty high expectations for the new version, and luckily it didn’t disappoint. Even though the GBB sounded really powerful it didn’t quite manage to out gun everything on test. But it did solidly tie with the top 3 longest fairways on test, and with our longest shots coming from the toe and the heel its got to be said the tech in Callaway’s Hyper Speed Face is doing a lot right.

Bottom line:

Great across the board performance, irrespective of the golfers ability. A massive attraction for us is how Callaway make so many lofts in the GBB, making it possible to go from driver to irons in just fairway woods, which is perfect if you hate hybrids.
