What we say...

Tech:

A heat treated face and CT Response Channel combine to deliver consistently hot performance from across the club face say Benross. A wide body construction maximises forgiveness on off centre hits, making the HTX the longest Benross fairway ever.

Our verdict:

Benross have done it again and included a top of the range Kuro Kage shaft in the HTX which is exactly the same as you’ll find in another premium fairway we tested but it will set you back an extra £130! For the average club golfer we reckon the Benross is a good shout. It was amongst the higher spinning fairways on test which means it’s easy to launch, but also means it’s not an out-and–out distance machine. Ball speed retention as Benross promised was excellent with a drop off of just 2.4mph between centred and off centre hits.

Bottom line:

A solid without being exceptional performance. But look at the price tag! In the cold light of day you might only use a fairway a couple of times a round. With that being the case if you can’t justify over £6 a yard to get as far as the longest fairway on test the HTX is a very sound alternative.
