The Wilson Smooth Driver is the driver of choice for three-time Major winner Padraig Harrington. The weight in the head is moved further back as the loft increases, and the large sweetspot made this club pretty forgiving. Words such as “solid” and “powerful” were used by the testers to describe the bat, but Chris felt the head looked a little smaller than some of the others behind the ball.

2010 Review
This club made a big impression on our testers and was desperately unlucky not to bag a silver award. John belted out his longest drive with the Smooth and David recorded a dispersion of just four yards, as well as great distance. Pro Chris liked the smaller-looking head, even though it is 460cc, and the fact it sat square at address – meaning he thought it
would be better suited to a more accomplished player. Leon said it felt soft yet powerful off the face and once John got used to it he said it was very consistent. Our testers agreed there wasn’t much to dislike about this club at all and gave it a big thumbs up. A great performer!

Used on Tour by three-times Major champion Padraig Harrington, the sleek 460cc Wilson Staff Smooth driver delivers exceptional ball speeds across a larger area of the face for exceptional distance and progressive weight distribution for maximum stability. It's big and it's brash and it performs well. The driver has variable face thickness to make the sweetspot as wide as possible. The Wilson Smooth also has maximum head stability with weight moved to the back of the clubhead. This means it's easy to get the ball airbourne with a high launch to provide maximum distance off the tee.

Wilson say: Inspired by sleek, uninterrupted lines of today's high performance vehicles, Smooth is beautiful to look at, and exhilarating to drive. Proprietary variable face thickness design delivers a larger sweet spot, twice as wide as a constant thickness face. Weight is moved further back in the head as loft increases to maximise head stability and improve the launch conditions appropriate for each loft.
