Light feel and look won’t work for all.
What we say...
Tech:
Wilson’s “Right Light” technology means the D200 weighs just 268g, which Wilson say allows golfers to generate extra club speed effortlessly. There’s a “Reactive Face” to maximise ball speeds across the face, a chemically etched crown to reduce weight and a 6 way adjustable hosel with 3 draw settings.
Our verdict:
Fairplay to Wilson for going all out with the lighter is better philosophy. We’d love to say the D200’s club speed was the fastest on test, but if we’re honest it nestled nicely into the quickest top three. Remember though the other two drivers (in the top 3) promise extra aerodynamic performance over the D200 too. The trick is harnessing all that club speed and converting it to ball speed and carry distance through careful launch angle and spin optimisation. The D200 didn’t quite power through with a maximum carry distance for any tester, instead it put in a very solid just above average performance when compared to all other drivers tested.
Bottom line:
You can’t pick up the D200 and not realise its lighter than virtually every other men’s driver on the market. It really is that lightweight. We reckon its tech particularly at average swing speeds has the ability to wring out an extra bit of speed from swings with an already decent tempo. It definitely goes down as one of the best Wilson drivers, but it won’t be the best option for everyone.

I recently switched from my Ping G20 driver to the Wilson 200-this is the best club I have ever used and at only £169.99 brand new. It is very long, very straight and very in expensive. I only lose 1/2 balls a round instead of the 6/7-and I play off 12!! Looking forward to getting my handicap down and on the fairways-thanks to Wilson.

Once I got used to the weight, one after the other flew straight. Clean look with great feel; I instantly knew I’d hit a good shot.

Effortless to swing with impressive forgiveness. Didn’t get the clubhead speed increase I was expecting, but it wasn’t exactly short and it was very accurate.
