Driver lofts are creeping towards 3-woods with the launch of the first, stock 14-degree clubhead.
It’s the highest standard loft ever offered in a driver, but TaylorMade says it’s necessary because of the weight in the clubhead.
The centre of gravity is well forward of most drivers, which moves it lower in the head. According to TaylorMade, this lower, more forward CG helps golfers get closer to its ultimate distance formula – a launch angle of 17 degrees with 1700rpm of spin.
