What we say...
Tested March 2011
Test Team: Chris Ryan (Pro), Jon Greathead (HCP 8), Bryan Slater (HCP 12) and Darren Slater (HCP 16).
Comments: Many of you will have seen our impressive coverage of TaylorMade’s new whit-headed woods around the New Year, but if you thought it was just hype you were sorely mistaken. The SuperFast product performed sensationally, and only Bryan was slightly off put by the colour of the head.

Tipping the scales at 279g, this is the lightest driver the company have ever produced, and the boys recorded some great distance – Chris in particular, was very long with it, and his average carry of 286 yards (on a dismal day!) was comfortably his longest.
The new headshape and inverted cone technology means the driver’s sweetspot is the largest of any TaylorMade driver and a super-tight consistency rate from three of the four testers helped to illustrate this, although the boys did actually mark it down for forgiveness – it just shows how important and useful the likes of Trackman is when it comes to seeing what works for you.
Perhaps the final word should be on the colour head – it’s certainly different, but Darren felt the white head actually made it easier to align. And that is exactly what the colour is supposed to do.

The R11 may grab most of the headlines, but if you want to plonk a driver behind the ball and whack away, the new Burner could be for you. It may not be adjustable, but it’s full of innovation. The longer shaft means more yards – TaylorMade claim it gives a whopping seven yards more than the previous model. It’s also TaylorMade's lightest ever driver so it’s easier to get great clubhead speed and therefore distance. And, like the R11, the Burner is white for easier ball alignment.

I play off 11 and struggle for distance off the tee. I bought this driver because of the extra length and boy it didnt disapoint. You dont have to swing big for this driver to go far. However!! Because of the extra length it takes alot to get used to. The shaft is an inch and a quarter longer so bigger swing but different distance away from the ball etc..... I initially chocked down on the grip and i was fine but It took me about 2 months to get used to the extra length and now im smashing it everywhere. When you buy this driver give it chance. Your not going to hit it long and straight at first. White is the new black. Great to line up!! This driver crept under the limelight underneath the R11 but i think its better and longer. Too many teaks involved for the R11.

Tried this club at a recent demo day and it was terrible. The club head is the only good thing about it, the white head and black face are brilliant. However, the shaft is way too flexible, I also tried the stiff shaft and even that was like a tube of licorice. Taylor Made have let themselves down by using a second rate shaft with a great club head. Production has already ended for this club and the RocketBallz will be hitting the racks later this year, my advice would be to wait for that before you buy anything.

Have just bought the white driver second hand and rushed off immediately to the range.Wow!!! All drives straight and true with more length than its predecessor in my bag. Gives a great feeling of confidence at address. Can't wait to impress my mates.

got my superfast driver last week and have now played two rounds with it..cannot believe how far i am hitting the ball...i have now purchased the 3 wood and 7 wood as weel and getting the same improvements ..the white driver stands out well ..and when your mates are taking the mick out of the colour you wipe the smile of there faces with its noise and distance off the tee...i had a callaway ftiz before this and it is not a patch...go out and by one!!
