What we say...
Tested March 2011
Test Team: Chris Ryan (Pro), Jon Greathead (HCP 8), Bryan Slater (HCP 12) and Darren Slater (HCP 16).
Verdict: Nike woods are getting better and better and the VR Pro’s performance certainly indicates this.It wasn’t the most forgiving club in the test, but the shape of the head would certainly appeal to the better player. If you do want a touch more forgiveness, but stay within the impressive Nike stable, the new Machspeed Black might be more up your street.

On first inspection, the new VR Pro driver looks very similar to the previous model but delve a little deeper and there have been some impressive enhancements on the 2011 product. The VR Pro, designed with input from Nike's Tour stars, features a compression channel that sits just behind the face, and it’s been designed to increase speed at impact on all areas of the face, meaning more distance on off-centre strikes. It also features the STR8-Fit technology which allows golfers to alter the face angle to allow for swing issues.
