What we say...

Tech:

Designed with a tour preferred pear shape head. An extremely thin and lightweight crown moves weight lower for a higher launch and less spin to maximise carry distance. The covert cavity back spreads weight to the heel and toe for maximum forgiveness and a Flybeam structure creates a more stable head and flexible face.

Our verdict:

The Vapor Pro’s been developed in conjunction with Nike’s tour athletes so its pear shape and deep face is very much tailored to their liking. We don’t usually go overboard with recommending “Tour Drivers” as they aren’t for the masses but the Fly Pro is well worth further investigation if you’re a reasonably confident and consistent driver of the ball. Simon who typically hits shots low on a driver face benefitted most from Nike’s compression channel tech recording his second longest average carry distance. Nike say the Fly’s body manages how the club deforms at impact, and by stiffening up the chassis transfers more energy to the ball at impact. We reckon it works too, Simon saw a rise in ball speed off a lower club speed when compared to Nike’s standard Fly driver and thanks to the lower spin he gained a few yards of carry distance too.

Bottom line:

A great shaped club that will particularly appeal to those confident on the tee box. Our testers loved the feel, the sound and how the clubs sits so square, so long as you don’t mind the blue colour it’s a cracking “Tour” driver.
