2012 REVIEW
Defi nitely the flashier of the MD Golf drivers and our test team were quite taken with the looks. Dave R loved everything about the driver from the way it sat and felt to the performance and he insisted it would be in real contention when next buying a driver. Pro James said the footprint was very long front to back at address and James V said he found it difficult to manoeuvre the ball but, like the Superstrong ST2, the Seve Icon was well liked by our mid and higher handicap testers. One negative is quite a loud and piercing impact noise. But in the distance stats, this featured strongly.

2011 REVIEW
Another good performance from an MD club in a TG Test – the look of this new Seve Icon is a step up on last year, and the quality is there too. The boys struggled with forgiveness, but Jon felt the overall look of the club would make it a popular product for those buying off the shelf.
MD have clearly spent a good wedge of money on the high-quality paint used on the Seve Icon. It really does look like it should cost a lot more when you put it down behind the ball.
If you want a very forgiving-looking driver, for not lots of money, this is it. You can now get this club in a white version too.

2010 REVIEW
This won universal praise from our panel with all the testers talking up aspects of its performance. Pro Chris said the size of the head inspired confidence because it looked very big and forgiving but without being ugly or overbearing. He also said it felt good through impact and sat well behind the ball. Leon was impressed by the MD Seve overall and thought this was a good “no-frills” driver which would work well for a mid to high handicapper – a statement backed up by good marks across the board. John and David were also fans although both said they felt the MD Superstrong was a slightly better option for a little less money.

The MD Golf Seve Icon Driver is an extremely forgiving driver and comes in varying degrees of loft.
This big boy features added perimeter weighting to help maximise distance on off-centre hits – and it was an accurate piece of kit. The dispersion figure was worthy of five stars, and our guys were big fans of the solid feel and noise that the Seve Icon made at impact. A very impressive package for less than £150. So, if you're on a budget but want quality, this could well do the job.
The 460cc titanium head of the MD Golf Seve Icon driver is designed with forgiveness as the main priority. Weight has been added in the perimeter of the deep head to help improve stability at impact and produce straighter drives.
