What we say...
Tech:
The most adjustable driver Cobra have ever made. A carbon fiber crown and weight track mean you get an 18g weight in the sole which can be positioned to tune the centre of gravity to your own game. A Speed Channel around the face and a variable thickness structure increase and maintain ball speeds.
Our verdict:
Weight loss is a modern theme in drivers and the F6+ takes the idea to the extreme. A carbon weight track doesn’t sound like much but it allows Cobra’s engineers to locate an 18g weight in the sole, which we reckon means you get more control over launch, spin and forgiveness. Our testers hit some of their longest drives with the F6+, test Pro Chris Ryan matched his 302yard longest single carry of the day with Callaway’s Alpha 816, which we reckon proves the King’s a powerful beast. Sound and feel is very different depending on where the sole weight’s located with the front position feeling more powerful and sounding louder. Drop off in ball speed with the weight in the back position was also particularly low meaning the extra mass also improves MOI and forgiveness.
Bottom line:
A very hi-tech driver from Cobra. Changing the 18g sole weight altered spin by 600rpm spin which is more than we saw with other drivers. Its got to say the extra mass has greater effect on the ball. Top marks to Cobra’s techies.
