What we say...

The Cleveland HiBore Monster XLS Monster is exactly what it says on the tin – a monster off the tee!

2009, Updated Model – Review

Cleveland says this is an über-forgiving big dog, and we’d have to agree. But it is a noisy so-and-so. Its ear-piercing thwack may be a big hit with some  golfers – but our four guys weren’t all that impressed. Roy commented that although he was put off by the noise, he was also put off by the “clinical design” of the club and felt that it wasn’t all that confidence-inspiring.

The Cleveland HiBore Monster XLS driver is a very forgiving club. The HiBore Monster XLS is their largest driver ever, designed to the absolute limit of the rules with a 16 per cent bigger face than the previous XLS for forgiveness. Maximum MOI is achieved with weight placed in three optimum perimeteor locations for stability and to maximise ball speed from anywhere on the club face. Distance driven geometry ™ moves weight lower and deeper in the club head, aligning the Centre of Gravity Projection (CGP) with the C.O.R. Hot Spot in the centre of the face for higher launch and greater distance.

the clue is in the name 'hi-bore monster' never have i hit a ball so far with little effort and never have i hit so many fairways, i had my first ever round with out hitting rough of the tee using this club and i play off 21. yes its loud, yes its big and yes its expensive considering. but yes my golf is better now.

i read with interest your review of this club and i couldn't disagree more, yes its loud but my god its long and its acurate. i have a standard spec 10.5 degree stiff fit on gold and easily i have added 20 /25 yards but more importantly very rarely miss fairways now. i would urge anyone thinking of this not to be put off by the review but to go and try it get on a launch monitor and take you own driver to compare. As for the design one of the reviewers said it was too clinical!!! i'd say its one of the few designs that actually work and do what is claimed by the manufacturer.
