What we say...

David, Joel and Chris all loved the size and shape of the head. Joel in particular saying it is spot on for the better player.
Chris didn’t feel it was as forgiving as others but loved it in all other categories while could hardly find fault with at all, particularly enjoying the great feel. Even higher handicapper Adam go on well with it, despite the slightly smaller head (450cc). A class act from Callaway.

The Callaway Diablo Tour Edge Driver a highly rated club on all levels, which hits great distance.

The Callaway Diablo Edge Tour driver is a four-piece modular design. It uses fused titanium head, chemically-milled hyperbolic face and better aerodynamics. This all adds up to the longest, most accurate all-titanium driver Callaway has made. A slightly smaller head in this Callaway driver and optimised Centre of Gravity result in a more penetrating ball flight.

A chemically milled face with a state of the art aerodynamic body design combine together to make the Callaway Diablo Edge Tour Driver one of the longest and most workable drivers out there for the skilled golfer! The Callaway Diablo Edge Tour Driver uses four pieces of Titanium that are fused together, creating the most weight efficient all-Titanium driver Callaway have ever created! A full length hosel and conventional compact head shape are appealing to the advanced golfer looking for maximum workability. This ultra accurate fusion assembly process allows weight to be positioned low and deep in the clubhead, delivering a distance enhancing, penetrating ball flight. 'Hyperbolic Face Technology' strategically shapes the face thickness to create a much larger effective hitting area for amazing forgiveness. Each of the Hyperbolic faces are subjected to a chemical reduction process, which selectively removes unwanted material for precision thickness control and greater ball speeds off the face.   A brand new, super-slippery aerodynamic head design reduces drag by 8% compared to other 460cc drivers. This all adds up to extra clubhead speed for more distance. Fitted as standard with the high-performance Aldila Habanero Tour graphite shaft which is engineered as the ideal complement to the Diablo Edge Drivers to deliver incredible feel and performance.

I tried this at a Callaway Demo day up at our club.  I'd just gone up to window shop really.  I tried out the FT-iZ and the Diablo Edge.  I just didn't like the look of the FT-IZ at address and couldn't get on with it.  The Diablo Edge was better but, in the end, I didn't like the elongated head shape. So it was onto the Diable Tour Edge, it was long - at least as long as my Ping G2 - but was also straighter.  Many balls, shafts and lofts later, I was sold on the Diablo Tour Edge and ended up getting my cheque book out.  I waited impatiently and just over a week later my shiny new toy turned up. Having used it in anger now, the main thing about this driver is that it is very long with less effort.  With a smoother and slightly slower swing, it goes miles.  My G2 went well but tended towards a higher ball flight which was fine when there wasn't much breeze or if there was a back wind but not so good into a head wind. The Diablo Tour Edge has a much more penetrating flight than my G2 and is comfortably and consistently longer too - 15-20 yards easy.  I've still got to get properly to grips with it.  I need to tee it a little lower than my G2 and spend a bit more time with it but it has been mighty impressive so far.
