What we said… JR: “I find the shape unusual. It has quite a small face but looks large from the back. It felt nicely balanced and balls felt like they came off fast and high. The swingweight feels heavy, which will appeal to a better player, as will the ease of workability for a thickish iron with a fair amount of offset. Forgiveness levels were high too, shots struck low on the face still went quite high with decent carry.”
JT: “I like the satin finish. It‘s a bit too thick on top with a little too much offset, but the difference between these and the s55s is relatively minimal. There’s loads of forgiveness for an iron in this category, especially in the long irons, producing a high flight yet the trajectory with the short irons was noticeably strong. The all-round package will suit a wide variety of players and will attract plenty of s56 and G20 users looking for an upgrade.”
Pros: Progressive CG location creates the optimum launch for each club. Feel is very close to that of a forged club and forgiveness is impressive in a relatively compact head.
Cons: Some better players will still find them too large. Having the number of the iron on the face is an unnecessary distraction.
