2013 Irons Test

James felt the wide sole made it look more like a hybrid than an iron, but all three testers praised the high forgiveness levels. James and Kit agreed the club wasn’t easily workable and that the chunky look might put some golfers off. Kit and Chris achieved a much higher flight. Kit averaged 170 yards, his highest on test, while James and Chris had an average dispersion of five and two yards respectively.

Cleveland's new 588 Rotex (RTX) series has been launched, with three sets of 588 irons and two types of wedges on offer.

While the wedges will grab the headline, the three sets of irons are just as exciting.

The 588 Altitude iron is all about getting the ball airborne quickly. They feature a forged face for greater feel and a full hollow construction that will offer golfers new to the game, or short on confidence, the ability to get shots airborne from a variety of lies.

    If your an occasional golfer or a high handicapper these clubs are ideal as they are easy to hit. The long irons are straight and the short irons surprisingly good around the greens.
