Tour Edge Exotics XCG3 Hybrid Review

This was another club which scored highly for three of our four testers. David, Mark and pro James all rated it in terms of looks while David enjoyed near-perfect dispersion stats and Mark loved the powerful feel. Pro James thought it was a little
heavy and the deep face meant it wasn’t as good from the rough. Chris was the only one who didn’t get on with it but nevertheless this was a terrific performer. Pricey too.

The super-thin face of the Tour Edge Exotics XCG3 Hybrid provides explosive power. High performance starts with attitude and the XCG-3 is loaded with it. Making an extreme generational step forward in design, this club is the first Exotics hybrid to include a tungsten sole and maraging-steel cup face.

Built with pure Exotics sophistication, the majority of the club’s weight is in the rear heel and toe of the sole. This set up is achieved by the heavy tungsten sole plate. This material is twice as heavy as steel allowing even more weight to be placed below the ball for improved performance. The resulting center of gravity angle is extremely deep, helping the club face square at impact with more force for a quick launch and longer, more accurate
shots.

Raising the bar on distance capabilities, the club’s super-thin face and deep center of gravity create an amazingly low spin rate for even more explosive power. To further improve performance, the XCG-3 hybrid incorporates two internal weight pads. These pads improve sound, feel, and center of gravity location for a more pure energy transfer at impact.
