What we say...
Tech:
The EX9 is a draw-enhancing driver, that’s been designed to deliver high flighted forgiving drives. Hexagonal various face thickness increases ball speeds particularly in the toe and heel areas for consistent maximum distance. A 14g heel weight and pad enhances draw bias.
Our verdict:
There’s been of couple of drivers we’ve tested where we thought there looked to be more loft on the face than what’s stated on the head, well that’s certainly not the case with the Tour Edge. Its 10 deg head looks very strong at address and gives the impression shots will bullet off low and powerfully rather than spinning up into the air. The EX9 is a really simple straight forward head design with a small alignment mark, a wide footprint head to increase forgiveness and there’s simply nothing to not like about it. Performance wise shots carried right on the average mark of all drivers tested.
Bottom line:
The EX9 is created to be a draw bias driver but we like how it doesn’t sit stupidly closed at address. Not a driver too many golfers will walk into a pro shop and ask for but if you do come across one we reckon you might be pleasantly surprised.
