2012 LONG TERM REVIEW
Initially, I found the speed dial on the UKaddy a little difficult to match to my walking pace but this is something that I’ve got used to. I was also impressed with the juice in the battery – in fact it saved my skin recently. I played a very hilly course (The Carrick), forgot to charge it after 18 holes, and then took a gamble and played another 18 with it elsewhere and it still powered round with no problems at all.
I have had a problem with the power on one occasion – there wasn’t any. I contacted the manufacturer, but managed to fix the problem myself as it was a simple damaged wire being loose. The other gripe is with the lower bag strap – it’s just too low and needs to be altered to make it easier to fix a bag in place. Overall, it’s hard to grumble about a product that is priced very competitively.

2011 REVIEW
Tester: Luke Alexander, HCP 11
Pros: This is a basic, no-frills trolley that does the job well. Simple enough to assemble and easy to use, it also looks solid and proved to be so on rougher terrain in the north of Scotland in winter! It coped well with hilly terrain and also in very wet conditions. The battery never gave a hint of running out of juice either, even over 27 holes.
Cons: On the minus side, I found it difficult to set the speed to a comfortable walk on flat ground. Also would have liked a simple on/ off switch, especially for the odd occasion when stopping in a hurry was necessary. The catch for locking the trolley in the assembled position is a bit of a “skin-pincher”. Finally, I bought the umbrellaholder accessory (it rains a lot up here), but, like all the other umbrella holders I have used, the handle of my brolly didn’t fit.
Conclusion: Brilliantly-efficient for such a low-budget product, but let down by the looks and the speed setting system. UKaddy have recently added a new silver frame, which should appeal to those who don’t want blue or magenta.

2010 REVIEW
What we like: UKaddy is built right here on these shores. It was straightforward to assemble, feels sturdy enough and is competitively priced.
What we don’t like: We weren’t initially that impressed with the trolley. The blue frame (available in pink for the ladies) is garish to say the least. The speed dial required the touch of Phil Mickelson too, and it was difficult to get the suitable speed. A distinct lack of functions consigns this to very much an entry-level model in our opinion. It’s certainly robust, so it will be interesting to see how it goes over a longer period of time.
