What we say...
What we like
Like the eCaddy, the price is terrific – particularly when you consider that the 36-hole lead acid battery comes as standard. However, this doesn’t have the feel of a budget-end trolley and features a host of functions that would not look out of place on a trolley twice the price. Sporty rubber wheels and a good-looking frame complete the styling while the digital display and speed dial are clear and easy to use with both hands.
We’ve had the GTS’ predecessor on long-term test for the past year and it is still running smoothly. If this performs as well then it will be £200 very well spent. The GTS travels in a straight line and doesn’t suffer from the left-hand pull we noticed in the previous version.
What we don’t like
The GTS still features a slight delay between turning the dial to go and the trolley actually moving – this frustrated us with the previous model. This certainly isn’t a huge issue but is mildly annoying – put it this way, we noticed it. Lastly, while we like the standard 36-hole battery, it is heavy and may not be easy for absolutely everyone to lift in and out of a car boot. These are, though, clearly small issues.
Anatomy at a glance
Battery options: 36-hole lead acid battery £199.99
Trolley weight: 9.7kg
Warranty: 1 year (trolley), 6-month (battery)
Bag pictured: Ping Frontier LT £120
TG Verdict
We think you’d struggle to buy better for less than £200 because this is a lot of trolley for that kind of cash. Excellent value and performance to boot. We found a few things we didn’t like – but these were very small aspects on what is a top-value offering.

The newest sports model in our range, the Stowamatic GTS takes electric trolleys to the next level. A powerful motor, an upgraded battery and a new sporty frame, will make light work of even the toughest course.
The 200W motor makes easy work of hills, and our new 36-hole GEL battery will last for a whole day's play, even in wet conditions. Lightweight and fully foldable, the trolley takes up very little storage space and will fit in most car boots.

I bought a Stowamatic electric golf trolley because it was inexpensive and I figured it would do the job. Big mistake. I had to send it back twice almost immediately because the electrics wouldn't work. Then a buckle broke from the strap that holds the bag on. Then the start button fell off (although it still worked.) The umbrella holder broke the first time I used it. Now, 15 months after i bought it, a pin holding the three main struts together has come out and bent. They want to charge me £50 to send it back to be fixed or £20 just for the part (I offered to fix it myself if they send me the part). They don't seem to have heard of the Sale of Goods Act or recognise that their product should work for rather longer than the period of warranty. Do yourself a favour and don't buy from them.

After 12 months use the Electronics on my GXT model went Haywire and there does not seem to be any site advising where to have the Stowamatic Electric Trolley serviced. The dial keeps flashing and the forward movement is non existant . The forward movement buttons have no effect so I would appreciate details of nearest service site. As I live in Northern Ireland any suggestions would be welcome.
