What we say...

The tech:

The R1-S has a folding mechanism based on a rack and pinion system commonly used in the steering systems of cars, which Stewart say offers excellent durability and reliability. There’s three quick release wheels, a two-year warranty and no end of holders for all your accessories.

Stewart Golf R1-S Push

Our verdict:

Make no bones about it even though the R1-S folds down beautifully for storage and transportation once its set up it’s a bit of a beast. Just like Stewart’s top of the range premium electric trolleys the push has plenty to shout about. It’s beautifully engineered with a really slick folding mechanism and everything about it shouts quality. We really like the stability, the build quality and how it’s been cleverly thought through to give you absolutely everything you could possibly need from a push trolley. The bag stays are big and sturdy enough to take a bag of any size and even though the Push is no shrinking violet it’s still really nibble and responsive. Set up’s really simple with just the handle to position and a single lever to flip before opening the frame, a foot brake also comes in handy when playing on undulating fairways.

Bottom line:

Nothing Stewart make can ever be called cheap but everything they do produce comes with a sound quality guarantee. We like how the trolley is assembled in the UK, and if you’re looking for an all singing and dancing “pusher” this year you should definitely have a look at the R1-S.
