What we say...
The Highway is Powakaddy’s cheapest electric golf trolley, but we reckon if we hadn’t been told, we would never have guessed. Its sturdy, lightweight construction is just as good as more expensive models of elecrtic trolley, and feels like it’s going to last the test of time.
Setting the Powakaddy Highway electric trolley up is a simple process: a single folding action takes no longer than a few seconds to unravel, and we particularly liked the stretchy strap that fitted over the base of the bag. It holds the bag snugly in place no matter what the terrain, and saves you getting your hands dirty scrabbling around on the floor trying to find click clips.
Our biggest gripe was the bag retainer, which should grip the bag top to stop it from falling from the electric trolley. No locking mechanism meant it buckled under the weight of a bag. It may do its job on a Powakaddy golf bag, but our carry bag caused problems. The Powakaddy Highway electric golf trolley was noticeably quieter than others, but while it had plenty of juice to get us round the course, it didn’t feel quite as powerful in long rough or when climbing hills.
Powakaddy is known for its excellent customer service, which gives you peace of mind should anything go wrong, and we think this is a great budget option.
Entry level Powakaddy features a simple one-action collapse mechanism, upright fold position with bag in place.

I had considered buying an alternative to Powakaddy due to their hefty price. However, I decided to go for quality and purchased a Highway. The course I play is extremely hilly to say the least and to be honest I was a little concerned that the 18 hole battery may struggle. I needn't have concerned myself at all. The battery coped superb, and so did the trolley. It collapses quickly and snugly into the boot of my saloon in under 1 minute. I would say the only gripe I have is that ive had to buy a Powakaddy bag to fit the trolley correctly. This stabilises the whole unit very well. I did try my Taylormade bag on it prior to this and although it held quite well, it didn't fit perfectly. The other thing to be wary of is when you are setting it up and putting it away. Don't do what I did and put the battery on the trolley before the bag. It will fall over and will probably cause damage to the battery. Likewise, always remove the battery first when finished. Although the list price is £299, I knocked down a retailer to £245. This trolley looks good with the Powakaddy bag, and it's certainly quiet. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase and wouldn't see any need to upgrade to a different model. It does exactly what it's designed to do and is in no way gimmicky.
