Tested
As reviewed in our Trolley Test 2014, tested by Joel Tadman (Handicap 4) – winner of our Silver Award:
The Freeway Sport was a good trolley but the FW7 trumps it. The frame feels lighter and more modern in appearance, oozing class and durability. You can lift it from your car with one hand and the jumbo-sized yellow tags make securing the straps easier. The handle is soft and user friendly and the cassette-style battery is a great concept but I found the ‘click’ that lets you know the battery is secured a little too quiet – it popped out a few times. It’s a shame the handle height isn’t adjustable too. The extended battery was good, comfortably getting through 36 holes on a flat course.

Details: Available with a titanium silver frame colour with either a carbon fibre or brushed silver trim. £445 (standard battery); £480 (extended range); £610 (lithium); £665 (extended range lithium). Also available with an Electronic Braking System from £670.

Powakaddy Electric Trolleys User Reviews

  • 2 out of 5 Quality concerns

    By Mike, Reading

Straight out of the box there were inaccuracy issues with all the distance measurements on the screen. All the electrics were replaced under warranty. It also never steered straight from day 1 and the front wheel alighment mechanism is really difficult , near impossible, to adjust. Handle frame does not feel sturdy enough and it is easy to inadveringly push the stop/start button when changing the speed.

  • 1 out of 5 Powakaddy Poor Quality

    By Garry Street

The issue with powakaddy is still poor quality. I stupidly bought a FW7 and it failed within 2 months. I should have learnt my lesson as my previous trolley a Sport had 5 warranty failures and eventually had to be replaced. Whilst the people at powakaddy are friendly the service in the end is quite poor. I would seriously recommend another trolley.

  • 5 out of 5 Great trolley - especially with lithium battery

    By Ifhw

Changed an old Hillbilly for this new Powacaddy FW7 and opted for Lithium battery. Really pleased with choice- easy & quick to setup in the car park and seems lighter than my previous trolley. Came with "free" Powacaddy bag but was worth getting as is a really stable combination. Runs very well on all sorts of terrain - only comment would be some wheel spin on slopes with wet grass, but not crucial. Distance finder useful as well. Battery charges in about 3 hours. In short - great trolley and although a bit more expensive probably worth it in the long run as battery life with lithium should be longer than lead acid. Well pleased!
