2012 LONG TERM REVIEW

For a trolley that retails at less than £300, this has proved to be a really impressive product with very little to complain about. And it’s not like I have just taken it out four times in the past year. I’ve used it about three times a week since I’ve had it! And the impressive thing to report is that I haven’t’ had to go back to the manufacturer to report a major fault yet. This, in my opinion, is a huge feather in its cap.

I would certainly recommend it to mates, especially as the battery is more than capable of getting you through 36 holes on only one charge – which used to be a problem with almost every trolley around.In the negative column, I have noted that the on/off switch is a tad temperamental and it was also prone to tipping back when going up hills.

2011 REVIEW

Pros: The Linden Fairway was quick and easy to assemble, and performed well. The wheels were easy to remove for cleaning and transporting, which was especially useful if you needed to get the trolley into a small space. I also thought the distance control device which allowed you to set the trolley off to 10, 20 or 30 metres away was a useful feature.

Cons: I found the on/off button quite unreliable and the speed dial was just too sensitive. I also had a few issues with the Linden tipping over because of the lack of the weight over the front wheel.

Conclusion: On the surface of it, the Linden looks like a very solid product that is easy to assemble, easy on the eye and gets the job done. It’s also easy to store, but there are a few underlying issues. The TG gear boys found the display
hard to use, and the long-term tester noted the sensitive nature of the On/Off button. Ultimately, it’s a low-price product that will deliver good performance for the vast majority of the time, but there are certainly things that suggest it’s less expensive than some other models on test.

2010 Review

What we like: We like the fact that the product is made in the UK, and there would be few who would disapprove of its looks. The speed dial was responsive and easy to use and the built-in distance function that allowed you to send it off 10, 20 or 30 yards a time was a winner too.

What we don’t like: Bright testing conditions caused havoc. The screen was impossible to see so you were relying on touch and feel when setting the speed dial. We have an issue with pricing: the Fairway is sold without a battery and a charger – the prices listed are with a battery, however.
