2012 LONG TERM REVIEW

I was initially very impressed with the folding mechanism on the trolley – that immediately had me on side. The speed control is another simple but highly-effective feature that hasn’t let me down throughout the time I’ve had it. It has also remained very sturdy, but there have been a few issues with it. I was worried about the white colour scheme, and sadly my fears have been confirmed – especially as I live in sunny Scotland – so it has got dirty quickly.

The biggest problem came with the battery though – after about six months it started to struggle over 18 holes, and then one day it was flat and wouldn’t charge. That said, the company’s staff couldn’t have been any more helpful and they sent a courier to collect the trolley and battery. Within a week, I had a new one delivered and it’s been excellent ever since.

2011 REVIEW

Pros: So simple to assemble. Put the wheels on, pull up the handle and wait until
you hear it lock. The trolley was incredibly sturdy and the bag was held firmly in position – the speed control was simple to use too. Over time, the trolley has been
completely reliable, with the battery indicator showing 25 percent remaining after 18 holes on a hilly wet course. It comfortably lasted 21 holes in a winter competition.

Cons: I was concerned how the white (but there are plenty of other colours available) frame would last in the winter conditions, and felt I had to clean it after each outing. I also found it quite heavy to turn around and the battery tray has a hole cut in it which allowed water and mud up onto the battery bag. My final gripe is price – it’s up there with the most expensive on the market and I wonder if they have the same repair network should something go wrong.

Conclusion: Super-simple to set up, highly reliable and good over long distances although handling was a bit cumbersome and the price is at the higher end.

2010 REVIEW

What we like: This was the easiest trolley on test to assemble – one pull and it clicked into position. It was very simple to use and looks good too. The speed dial was very responsive.

What we don’t like: The downward-pointing handle was a bit odd. Unless you have really small hands, you’re not going to get two paws on the handle – especially if you’re wearing a big winter mitt. The price is probably the biggest issue for us. The functions aren’t as plentiful as PowaKaddy’s Sport or Motocaddy’s S3 Digital – and this is what the Revolution is putting itself up against.
