What we say...
What we like
We’ve long been fans of Golfstream trolleys but they’ve always tended to come in at the higher end of the price scale. However, the Evolution Digital is an impressive £349 which, for a brand with an excellent reliability record, is good value. The functionality is terrific and the speed dial is easy to use – another couple of boxes ticked for the new Evolution Digital.
We also like the colourful white, green and orange frame options, although these won’t be to everyone’s taste. Also, the number of battery options means there should be something to suit not only every golfer but every budget. It’s satisfying to learn it is also manufactured in the UK. This will appeal to many.
What we don’t like
The Golfstream Revolution trolley is without a doubt the easiest on the market to fold and unfold – but the Evolution isn’t quite as simple. It is still straightforward and doesn’t require a PHd to assemble but when compared to the one-touch Revolution system it is a step backward. The plastic hinges are also poorer quality than we are used to on the Revolution – but then it must be acknowledged that the Evolution model is significantly cheaper.
Anatomy at a glance

Trolley weight: 8.8kg
Warranty: 2 years
Bag pictured: Golfstream Luxury Cart Bag £99.99
TG Verdict
A great way to get a reliable brand at a mid-market price. If you can afford the extra money we would recommend upgrading to the Revolution – for the brilliant folding mechanism if nothing else – but if you can’t then this is a very good option.

First came Revolution. Now comes Evolution – the second ultra-reliable and 100% British made powered trolley from Golfstream. Following on from the high-specification Golfstream Revolution, the Evolution is also an all-British affair but offers the serious golfer an entry level into the high-quality world of Golfstream and our company’s reputation for outstanding reliability.
The Evolution is a sturdy one-fold trolley that boasts the same 200 watt motor used by its ‘big brother’. Meanwhile, the frame unfolds and locks into place with one solid click and the golf bag is held firmly in place with adjustable stays situated on the central spine of the trolley. The lightweight, oval aluminium frame is complimented by a beautifully-styled soft grip T-bar handle that offers left and right handed use through the simple to use digital controller.
One area where the Evolution leaves many of its rivals standing is the outstanding performance and reliability of its electronics – which have been developed and made in Kent by Electromech, one of the UK’s leading golf component manufacturers. A one touch power control dial and a bright twin digit display shows speed settings from 0.5 up to 9.5, while simple-to-use controls can send the trolley forward on its own for 10, 20 or 30 meters. The Evolution can be programmed for true right and left hand operation by cleverly reversing the rotation of the control switch through the sophisticated electronics.
The Evolution also comes complete with an optional security code allowing the user to set a private security number, allowing only their use of the trolley. And the trolley is fitted with an automatic power save feature that turns the power off if it sits idle for three minutes or more. The Evolution is lightweight, strong and weighs less than 11kg when paired with a Lithium battery. It’s available in black or white and a full choice of lead acid and lithium batteries. Each trolley comes with a two year guarantee.
