What we say...
You’ll need to down about five cans of spinach before hauling the Caddybug electric golf trolley out of your car boot, because it weighs a ton. Being so heavy means this electric trolley will probably be less attractive to women or seniors, and just setting it up is a work-out in itself.
The electric golf trolley’s unusual design feeds power to the swivelling rear wheels, so it is capable of turning in tighter circles than its competitors, which can be a bonus for dodging bunkers or lakes at the last minute.
Swivelling wheels may be a bonus in one respect, but they are also the Caddybug electric trolley’s biggest downfall, because they mean it naturally wants to follow the ground’s contours. This means you always need to be behind the trolley to stop it wandering off line, which takes away most of the enjoyment of using an electric trolley.
Throw in the fact it needs a fair old shove to get it moving, the speed control has only two speeds (too fast or too slow) and the electric golf trolley’s lack of power when climbing slopes, and you realise this would be a nightmare to live with. Up against stiff competition, the Caddybug’s weaknesses became clear.
Unique four wheel design gives extra stability.
