What we say...
This is the only half-zipped jacket on test – a sign, perhaps, that golfers have not bought into the idea of over-the-head-type jackets as much as the golf industry anticipated. But that doesn’t mean this Mizuno suit isn’t a very good set of waterproofs.
The level of adjustability is fantastic, with plenty of elastic cuffs and waistbands. The trousers can also be adjusted to three different lengths, thanks to the nifty use of some concealed poppers.
At less than £200 we reckon this is a brilliant all-round suit for the serious golfer. Both jacket and trousers will scrunch down enough to be pushed into almost any tiny space, and with half sleeves, which can be taken off with just a few poppers, it is as versatile as they come.
If you are wondering, then, why this suit hasn’t been rated more highly, it’s simply because it is made from 100 per cent polyester, which can’t quite cut it for breathability when compared against Gore-Tex.
