The Greg Norman Collection has been making high-quality waterproof golf clothing since the great man was in his prime. Adding a waterproof golf suit to the range seems a natural progression.

When pulling on the golf trousers, however, we felt like we’d gone back 20 years to the bad old days of plastic cagoules. With sealed seams and mesh-lined pockets, horrible memories of wet childhood camping trips came flooding back. The only positive thing to be said about the golf trousers has to be the integral spats, which fold out to stop water running off your trousers into your golf shoes.

You’ll be as surprised as we were, then, to hear that the golf jacket is a complete contrast, and actually a very nice piece of kit. The fabric is completely different and is softer and quieter, and it would look just as smart away from the golf course. Forget the trousers – the jacket is reasonably priced and classy.
