If you aren't sleeping well, you aren't playing well! Whether it's avoiding the out-of-nowhere overnight pulled neck muscle or just making sure you get enough REM cycle sleep to recover from your previous day (or night) out, a well-rested golfer always plays better.

The Nectar mattress is an outstanding deal for this Amazon Prime Day but the price is backed up further by Nectar's promise of a 365-night risk-free trial period. This means you can test for a whole year before you decide if their medium-firm mattresses are right for you.

If you do love the Nectar mattress (which we don't doubt you will), you're also covered with their Forever Warranty which guarantees the mattress for as long as you own it.

Do your golf a favor and make sure you're getting the best possible start to your round!

A morning coffee is one of life's essentials. And, sure, a filter coffee will wake you up but it doesn't make you feel the same way as a stop at the local place for that perfect temperature Latte you need to really enjoy your drive to the course.

Time isn't always in our favor with trips to the course though, so why not bring the experience of a barista-quality coffee into your own home?

As someone who worked in a coffee shop when I started in the workplace, I appreciate Breville's fantastic options on this model. From grind size to steam pressure, you can set your at-home coffee shop to your exact needs and style, as well as adapt to your partner's or house guest's desires too.

The perfect recovery drink after the round

With the amount of power in the game now, it's no surprise to see golfers acting more like athletes than ever before.

If you're trying to develop your game, muscle mass is one of the biggest contributors to developing more distance and lighter grip pressure for better control. The gym might not have always been the golfer's natural home but you'll be hard-pressed to find a top-level player who isn't at least a casual gym user.

What I like best about Muscle Milk is that it's usable for both after the gym or a round of golf as a recovery item but also as a mid-round snack. It's certainly better for you than a beer and a hotdog, and with multiple flavors to choose from, you can make sure you're satisfied in taste as well as hunger.

I like Cookies and Cream for my own choice - it matches my sweet tooth preference on-course or if I want to put something quick in my stomach for a late-evening snack/dessert.

Inspiration has to come from somewhere and for most of us, that somewhere is the professional scene. Whether it's seeing Rory tear up tee boxes, Korda crafting clubs into close corners, or Schauffele making putt after putt on his way to two major championships, we all want to emulate the stars of the game.

Inspiration doesn't come, though, from poor picture quality and that's where the HiSense U8 Series comes in. With 4k clarity, you'll be amazed at how many more details you notice on the golf course, as well as having internet connectivity to make sure you don't miss out on your YouTube golf pleasure as much as the broadcast Tour events.

I like spending time on the putting green so seeing the slopes and contours of the greens at places like Augusta National in high definition or spending time watching course previews away from the course myself are brilliant on the HiSense.

You could even use it to watch the Today's Golfer YouTube channel...

Let's be honest, golf isn't generally the sport you need better sound quality to enjoy.

With Thursday through Saturday of tournament days being made up of soft applause for most shots, even I sometimes wonder why I invested in a soundbar. And then the moments come.

It might be the Sunday roars as McIlroy and Bryson battle it out for a US Open, it might be Jim Nantz's silky smooth baritones greeting me at the beginning of Masters week, but there are moments that grab you and the superb quality Bose is known for helps embed those memories into my mind.

In particular, the Sound Bar was essential during the Ryder Cup in Rome (sorry, US readers) where the crowds made every close approach or made putt felt through the screen and sound. With less than a year to go before Bethpage hosts the 2025 edition, make sure you prepare properly for the greatest spectacle in Golf.

Remembering where I've put my essentials isn't my best personality aspect.

With a job that requires me to travel between different venues with different products to review, knowing where I've left the most important items for my travel is more important than anything.

I leave an air tag in with my recording kit, with the new devices I'm testing, and even slip one into my shoes for travel so I can check I've got everything with me before I set off or leave anywhere. If I'm taking a flight, I'll even slip one into the golf bag so I know where it's gone in case it ever gets lost in transit (Although I don't know how I'll feel arriving in LA and seeing my clubs are waiting for me in Seattle).

Outside of work though, I'll use the air tags to see if I need to bring shoes to the course or if I've left them in the locker room. A quick check on my phone while I sip a morning coffee and I know exactly what I need to pack before I head over to the course, saving me time and worry every day.

Celebrate or commiserate your round in style

Honestly, whisky isn't my thing. I've had to go to an esteemed colleague for advice on this one. I'll normally settle down into a rum but I know that it's never been as popular a drink as the classic single malts have been.

This particular Scotch comes from one of the Islay distilleries, famed for the quality of product and depth of flavor. The 16-year-old is known to divide drinkers over its smoky flavor, often creating an immediate love-hate relationship for those that try it.

I've been assured though, that if this taste is for you, then you'll never want another Whisky in your hands again.

Prepare for your round like a true Brit

Coffee makers are great fun and I have one at home. But as a citizen of the British Isles, there is no replacement for tea in my life.

Whether it's in the evenings before bed or first thing in the morning, a strong tea can warm anyone's soul. While I'll mainly choose a coffee to start my day before golf to wake my mind up, I'm no stranger to a cup of tea. What I never look forward to, however, is having to leave the cozy embrace of my bed to stand in front of a kettle as it teases me with boiling water.

This is where the Smart Kettle makes life sweeter. I can enjoy a gentle wake-up in bed, flicking through my phone or simply lying there in the sheets, as a quick command to Alexa gets the kettle to my set temperature. It'll even keep the water warm if I want another five minutes!

So whether it's at first light or ready for you when you get home, enjoy your heartwarming Earl Grey when you want it without the annoyance of waiting ever again.

I debated whether I should include this one. I originally bought these for practicing my game with, but I've since started using them for golf even away from the course so I think I'm safe!

I went with Bose because of the experience I've had both with their TV Soundbar, which I still love, and with my previous wireless buds which produced great sound.

What I wasn't expecting with these new ones is the silence though. An odd statement for headphones, to enjoy the quiet with them, but it's why they're named what they are. The noise cancellation is unbelievably good, with nothing getting through once immersion mode (the default mode) starts.

The reason I'm including these earbuds in the non-golfing section, however, because of the alternate modes. I can turn on aware mode while I'm sitting at my desk and still converse with my colleagues while enjoying the latest golf podcasts. Or I can go back to immersion and take in the evening coverage of the PGA Tour while the wife watches the TV without having to leave the room.

Bose has earned a place beyond the golf course and I think they should be considered by any serious golfer or audiophile without a doubt.

Also available in other colors, albeit with a little less of a saving.

Keep your legs moving wherever you go

While golf journalism can seem like the best life in the world, it can mean long periods between actual being on the golf course. As such, walking 18 after not seeing a club for two weeks can feel like a slog for the last few holes for sure.

The under-desk treadmill is fantastic for keeping me moving while I'm standing at my desk in the home office, or if I want to take a more active break before coming back to sit and work.

Using it, I feel like I can prepare for my next round, whenever it may be, without taking away from my normal day duties.
