What we say...
2013 Balls Test
JR: Launched higher than I was expecting. Felt reasonably soft around the greens, enough stop.
JT: Feels tacky (sticky, not cheap) in your hand. Not overly hot off the face, but very soft feel. Loads of grip on the second bounce.
KA: Got a higher flight than normal. Performed about average for this category.
This three-piece is covered in a thin, soft veneer of urethane to deliver maximum control. Wilson say this is a premium Tour ball in everything but price, and it’s hard to disagree.
The FG Tour is so soft it feels more like an old balata ball – but it has been designed to offer long-game distance as well. One of the softest cores on the market produces a higher launch and less driver spin and therefore more distance off the tee, while the mantle and the thin urethane cover provide all the short-game spin you'll need. The mantle is also designed to transfer power from the core so ball speeds should always be high.
