What we say...

When someone of Vijay Singh’s quality switches ball manufacturers, people take notice. The Fijian has been using the new Srixon Z-Star and pretty soon you’ll be able to get your paws on them.

The ball aims to offer greater distance, spin and feel. The soft cover is ideal for those feel shots, while a large, energetic core means you can still get it out there.

There is also a Srixon Z-Star X model, which is a little firmer than the regular Z-Star. It also spins less too.

And it’s not just Vijay who is putting them into play. Swede Henrik Stenson put the Srixon Z-Star balls in his bag at the 2008 Nedbank Challenge as well as at the World Cup in Mission Hills; he won both.

2009, Updated Model – Review

Srixon’s balls caught the imagination of our testers, who rated the Z-Star’s super-soft feel. Malcolm also found cracking distance off the tee, but like the TP Red, thought the spin was a little too high for his game. Mark didn’t lose much distance and rated the Z-Star alongside the two Callaway balls.

Srixon Z-Star Golf Ball is Srixon's best ever high performance three-piece ball. Soft with maximum control. 324 large seamless dimple design with a larger, softer core and ultra-thin cover provides flight stability and exceptional spin and control . Faster ball speed. 90 compression. Exceptional feel and soft sound.

Srixon's new Z-Star premium ball impresses the big names.

These really are stars!  I have never hit a ball that felt better from all the clubs in my bag and it really flies a long way too.  I like a soft ball but didn't really know how good a soft ball could be till I hit one of these and then it was love at first strike!  I had been playing Tri-speed and Z-URS balls until I was lucky enough to find one of these and now I am addicted.  But like all good addictions it comes at a price.  As my driving can still be a bit wayward at times, I can't afford to use these often, but for serious competition play, I wouldn't want anything less. Last time I lost one I had to be dragged out of the rough kicking and screaming!  Now, if I win any money from my society games, it goes straight on these little babies!  Try them, you'll love them.  Or if you want something a little harder try the Xs.  Titleist or only still no 1 because people keep buying them.  I bet that on a blind test people would go for this Srixon!
