2012 REVIEW
Tested by Joel Tadman, 3 hcp.
I’ve been using the Ping Latitude stand bag for nine months.
I was delighted to see a new-look strap design – I had a Ping previously and I just couldn’t get on with the straps. So much so, I actually stopped using it.
Happily, the new Latitude boasts a strap system that is a vast improvement – it’s comfortable, easy to use, and it tends to pull the weight of your clubs into a more helpful area, rather than dragging onto the lower back. I’m quite tall too (6ft 3in), so I normally have to adjust the straps to make them work – this was very easy to do with this bag. I also liked the sensational amount of pockets (10 in total), one of which was specifically-designed to house a rangefinder. This was easy to access and as a better player, I do tend to check my yardages for pretty much everything.
If you’re after a flashy-looking unit, I would suggest this isn’t it. The colour option I’ve had (black/Inferno red) is very conservative and in gloomy weather it does look a bit plain next to some of the brighter options. The putter well, positioned at the top of the bag, is useful but does nothing to add to the aesthetic appearance.
This has been where the Latitude really stands out for me – I’m not a massive fan of using a trolley, electric or push/pull so my bag really does experience every sort of weather condition going. This is probably the best bag I’ve ever owned when it comes to staying upright – it simply doesn’t move in the wind. It also sits quite low to the ground, making it harder for the wind to get under the stand and knock it over.
2011 REVIEW
We liked: The new adjustable strap system was very comfortable and a big step up on previous versions. It had enough pockets and the moulded putter well was good. The flat base would sit well on a trolley too.
We didn’t like: Two of our guys found the design plain and would’ve liked a few more pockets.

2010 REVIEW
This was the best-looking bag on test according to our 16-strong ‘looks panel’. We loved the styling, even if it’s a bit ‘out there’.
It was also a great bag to carry. You get the feeling that you could have carted it about all day and not been too fatigued. The improved ‘dual precurved’ straps helped the bag sit tightly to your back as well.
Featuring an impressive eleven pockets, the PING Latitude Stand Bag provides golfers with lots of storage space. As well as a lined valuables pocket and water-proof zips, this stylish bag also has a detachable ball pocket that can be easily utilised as a range ball holder.
This sylish bag is available in different colour options including; Black/Graphite/Silver; White/Atomic-Orange/Silver; Black/Royal/Silver; Grey/Crimson/Silver.

I have to agree with Symonj. Looking through the online reviews for this bag, I was starting to think that it was just me, and that maybe I was doing something wrong. As people have already stated, the bag really looks the part, and the build quality is honestly better than I have seen on any other golf bag. But the rather important function of getting clubs in and out of the bag does not work as it should. From my experience, the hoofer system, where the stand mechanism is integrated in to the bag, leads to a folding of the fabric at the base. So where the club grips are supposed to slot in, they get all caught up in the fabric, which is further accentuated when the pockets are full and when you are carrying a brolly in the pouch. Have to say that this pretty fundamental issue has spoiled the bag for me, as when you've just driven to somewhere that was not precisely your origninal planned target. The last thing you want to be doing is fighting with your bag for the pitching wedge to recover. Sadly a factor of my play that occurs too often. Not sure if this has been fixed with the later bag, but if not, is really an oversite on their part, and will prevent me from buying another ping bag....

The Ping bag looks the business, it has a striking colour scheme that is well up to par. It draws attention every time I go to the course. The functional pockets on the outside are equally excellent however they do suffer from a lack of space. You will struggle to fit anything but paclite waterproofs in them. The zips are excellent as is the sunglasses pocket, the cool bag pocket and the detachable ball pocket. The outside of the bag in fact is almost faultless. It carries well and the stand is robust and easily deployed. I firmly believe that what lets this bag down is the most important bit, where the clubs live! The dividers are worse than poor offering no protection to your irons and always making it hard to release a club. Graphite users would be better off elsewhere. The putter well does not even properly fit my PING putter! For the price tag of £129.99 which was a large outlay for me the storage area of the clubs lets it down massively. I even contacted PING to suggest changes but got a generic reply. You really need to consider what you need. I have seen cheaper bags with better club storage but not the quality found on the outside of the bag. What is more important, you have to decide, if I was spending that much money again I would certainly think twice about the PING bag. After the review in TG and looking at it I was convinced to buy it. It has its excellent points but my advice is to look around before forking out this much money!!

Not as much room as the wright up says. Plenty of pockets but they are all very tight to the bag. If you carry waterproofs there is little room for anything else in the other 2 pockets on that side. no room for a jumper.. even gloves and caps have to be forced in. A bottle of drink is a non starter.. incredible oversight from a top company charging top money.. it does look great and is very stable but I expected more.

I bought this bag last week and loved the look of the bag and the fact that given all of the features it is light. However having played in the rain with this bag there were a few problems!! The largest pocket could not take my waterprrofs and a towel (kind of important - which do you leave out?). I appreciate that I played in changable weather (summer conditions where one minute it was raining cats and dogs, and the next the sun was splitting the rocks - on England's highest golf course!), however, this does seem to be a fundamental flaw! Additionally with the large pocket full, it was difficult to put the clubs back in the bag! Finally the leg mechanism of the bag tended to distort on uneven ground and subsequently when carrying the bag I was almost tripped up by them (this was easily rectified, but £110 for a bag is significant)!!! My thoughts, anyway I wonder if anyone else has experienced similar problems?

Best stand bag out there. Loads of pockets, great stand and a lot of space to put your clubs. Great idea of the detatchable ball pocket.
