Long Term Test – Jake O’Reilly 12 hcap
I was drawn to this bag by its simple looks, light weight and great value. It hasn’t disappointed. You’d struggle to find a better bag for the money, specially with the space you need for a winter round. It is Mizuno’s lightest stand bag, while the shoulder straps and back padding are the best I’ve experienced.
Pros: Very comfortable, lightweight and stylish, without the premium price.
Cons: There’s no fur-lined pockets, so your keys could scratch your phone or iPod.
According to Mizuno the Aerolite features a patented Kabuki organiser top cuff, which uses ‘divide and slide’ technology to keep the clubs separate in the bag. This works by using the natural weight of the heads to separate them for quick and easy access. Elsewhere the pre-curved dual shoulder harness has triple padding while the airflow hip-pad reduces sweat build up on hot days. It also features an easy access hydrosleeve for water bottles and a handy Velcro patch for storing your glove between shots.

I am a 12hcp who always has carried his clubs I play approx 50-70 times per year. I bought this bag based on on-line reviews, I have to say that I have been very disappointed with this product. I have always used mizuno clubs and have a lot of brand loyalty. Although I very much like the design of the partitions on top this has proven to be the only plus. There is no bottle pocket for a drink. I like to carry a liter bottle in my bag, especially in summer and there is not pocket for this, outside of a pretty flimsy net pocket which is only big enough to hold a small bottle. So I started using the side pocket for my water bottle, however the poor build quality meant that the side pocket started to tear at the seam, due to the weight of my liter bottle. Further to this the zipper on the side valuables pocket came off within two months. The large base pocket where you can store balls developed a hole into the main club compartments within 6 months. The metal release mechanism for the stand keeps coming out of the plastic base so that when you put the bag down the stand legs do not release properly. So all in all, I could not recommend this bag to anyone.

This is my third Mizuno Golf bag. I really do not think that you can get much better than Mizuno. Stylish, well balanced, good straps, decent sized pockets and a nice range of colours. What more do you need.
