What we say...
We liked: Great-looking and very comfortable with a vast array of pockets, including valuables and easy-access phone pockets. Liked by all testers.
We didn’t like: Two testers felt there were possibly too many pockets, while another thought the clubs rattled around a little too much. The stand could have come out a touch further as well.

I have been using this bag for just under 12 months now.
I know MD Golf clubs are more towards the lower end of the price scale, and while the bag is also competitively-priced, I actually thought it looked much more expensive than it was. I had to adjust the straps a bit too to get it to be comfortable on my back, but ultimately this was straightforward to do and once done, it was comfy.
As much as I don’t like to admit it, I’m getting on a touch now so I was looking for something that was easy to lug about and would be happy enough parked in the boot of my Mondeo for most of its life. Happily, the Ballesteros bag does just that. It’s the no-frills nature of it that makes it great in my eyes. I have really mistreated this bag, yet it’s still in great condition, the stand works and it still looks good. The blue material has remained bright too, regardless of the weather. The size of the main pocket is also a plus. I’ve managed to stuff lots of gear in there and there has been no sign of unexpected wear and tear or of the zips breaking under the strain.
I know I’ve said I’ve banged it about a bit, but during my rounds I’ve noticed that the clubs do “clink” together lots – there doesn’t seem to be as much protection from the dividers as you might expect.
On the whole, it’s been OK in bad weather conditions. The stand is pretty good but I will say that the bag is a little upright which causes a few issues when faced with blustery conditions. The roomy pockets have been a real bonus too when the weather has closed in quickly and I needed to get to waterproofs sharpish.
MD have designed the Ballesteros to be as sturdy and durable as possible and therefore it includes flat feet on the stand for added stability on uneven surfaces. It has seven full-length dividers in the top with a dry pocket complete with waterproof zip. It also has a cool pocket for storing drinks and a fleece-lined valuables pocket so watches, jewellery and phones are safe. There are three colour options and the price is also extremely difficult to beat.
