The Sonocaddie V400 started to grow on our team the more they used it and with a bit of practice it was well liked.
A particularly nice touch is a flyover video option and the ability to switch between aerial satellite view and graphical view, depending on your preference – although this function may not be fully available on UK models so it is worth checking.
Our team also liked how small and lightweight it was. One criticism was that it kept changing screen in your pocket. There is a lock button to and auto-lock function to stop this happening but our team felt this was a niggle having to do this every time. A zoom function for the green would have also been a good touch.
RATINGS (out of five):
Ease of use: 2.6
Functions: 2.8
Styling: 4.1
Value: 3.1
Overall: 3 stars
The V400 comes pre-loaded with more than 2,300 courses in the UK and there is capacity on the device to store up to 30,000 worldwide. It features a large touchscreen designed to be easy to use and view, even in bright sunlight, while distances can be calculated simply by tapping a point on the screen. As you would expect, the V400 can also be used to calculate your game statistics as you go round so it will get just as much use post round as it does during.
