A year or two ago the Snooper Shotsaver S320 would have impressed our panel but their view is that it has been left behind by most of the others on test because it is purely numerical rather than being backed up with graphics of each hole.

The Snooper certainly didn’t win favour with Ian when it advised him that the 17th hole on the Belfry’s Brabazon course was a dogleg left, when it actually turns round to the right.

The bright screen, styling and the decent price tag were all plus points but ultimately it failed to impress where it really mattered – performance.
