VERDICT: The test team said the Nikon 350G was the sharpest and clearest device on test and delivered the highest definition image.
However, Peter commented that this, in fact, could be a slight weakness because the image was so clear it was sometimes difficult to keep the device steady – although the first target priority mode ensures you always get the pin.
It was clear that this is an excellent piece of equipment and our testers said they would have no problem shelling out money safe in the knowledge they were buying top quality.
RATINGS (out of five):

There wasn’t a huge amount separating this from the Tour V2 but the Nikon just shaded it because Jon, David and Ben found it a little steadier – although David still found it tough to focus exactly on the flag at times. Like the Tour V2 this won praise for its compact design and the fact you can easily scan fairways, humps and hazards for yardages. One criticism Ben had was about the Nikon’s carry case stating it wasn’t as sturdy as Bushnell’s and couldn’t be clipped onto a golf bag.

This is Nikon’s lightest and most compact golf rangefinder but that doesn’t mean it is short on functions. It measures distances of up to 550 yards and also features a first target priority system and an eight-second continuous scan mode to measure different targets in very quick succession. It is also waterproof so there is no problem using it even in the wettest of conditions. The high eye-point design also makes it easier for players wearing spectacles or sunglasses to use.
