What we say
Claiming to be the prettiest golf course in Wales, Monmouth Golf Club stands on high ground above the town with superb views towards the Welsh hills, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.
The Golf Club is a picturesque 18 hole, par 69 golf course which was founded in 1896, complete with deer, pheasants and other wildlife. Until 1992, it was a 9 hole golf course - at that time it was extended to 18 holes and a new clubhouse built.
Our friendly and welcoming staff offer full catering and bar facilities in the clubhouse, which boasts stunning views of the beautiful surrounding countryside. Monmouth Golf Club is well known for the friendly welcome offered to visitors by members and staff alike.

We've played here the first sunday in August for the last 3 years and been blesed with the weather. Don't be fooled by the benign first hole; it's all up hill and down dales after that! Always in great nick and a pleasure to play, we'll see you on the 3rd August this year.

It's just one treat after another. From the warm welcome in the Clubhouse to the final green its simply great. good tees well tendered fairways and top quality greens every hole is a different experience. An absolute "must play" course. We played May 05, rained off May 06 and played July 07. Going back this May. Go for it over the farm on the 9th. I came up 2foot short of green, chipped up to hole and tapped in for birdie, Fantastic! Oh! one last thing, HIRE A BUGGIE!!!!

Monmouth GC is a very welcoming place. The course itself is quite a challenge but is a pleasure to play. There are few places, apart from the tees, where you get a flat lie. It undulates just about everywhere. The 2nd, 4th, 8th and 14th are great holes, as is the 9th which shapes around the farm in the middle of the course. The greens are always very good. This course is competitive on green fees and is worth a visit just for the views.
