Northop Golf & Country Club

What we say
There’s no doubt Northop and Carden Park have combined to put Cheshire well and truly on the golfing map. It’s an outstanding all round golfing facility and although the opening holes are pretty ordinary, the golf course gets better and better.
Northop Golf & Country Club opened 12 years ago and boasts USGA specification greens and tees as well as first-class practice facilities including an undercover driving range.
The venue hosted a European Challenge Tour event in 2003 and is currently undergoing major surgery to its opening six holes; the new-look layout is expected to be ready for play for the start of the new season.
Accommodation: The Highfield Hall hotel is virtually opposite the golf course and Plymouth House is a decent B&B in Northop village.

Overall a good course but a bit like playing 2 nine hole courses. The layout is a little bit confusing as the front 9 feels like it is in the middle of a housing estate. The back nine is more like a real golf course and gives the opportunity to score well if you play well. Some large well kept greens which need you to putt well to hole out on.Also some nice but confusing practice facilities in terms of their layout. Also a par four was turned into a 120 yard par three on the day we played so a slight let down but I would recommend this course and will play again also.
