What we say
Though it may only be 5851 yards in length, the hilly parkland course at Linlithgow Golf Club, with soft, undulating fairways leading to fast, contoured greens, poses a good challenge to its players.
There are some fantastic scenic views of the surrounding Braehead countryside on display right from the go with the straightforward 333-yard par 4 1st.
While there are no dramatic dogleg holes, the Linlithgow course offers golfers some challenging holes, including the par 4 9th, which is arguably the most enjoyable and demanding hole on the course, measuring a reasonably lengthy 420 yards and requiring a good drive to make the fairway that has a tight tree line guarding the left side.
Linlithgow Golf Club sits high above the Royal Burgh town of Linlithgow, Scotland. Our beautiful 18-hole course is situated within the farmland and hillside of the surrounding area, offering up stunning views of the Ochil Hills, Union Canal and Forth Valley. Steeped in history and tradition, Linlithgow is ideally situated half way between Edinburgh and Glasgow.
At 5,851 yards, the course is short enough not to be tiring but tough enough to demand good golf shots. Before you play, stock up on essentials at the Pro Shop, where you will find all the top names at very keen prices. Hone your game on our excellent practice facilities, or take lessons from our qualified resident PGA Professional, Graeme Bell.

A hidden wee gem of a course. Situated approximately 20 miles from Edinburgh, Linlithgow golf course was a pleasure to play. Suitable for all levels of players. With its wide forgiving fairways (well on some holes), to some rather nasty and challenging greens, this course will challenge low handicappers as well as giving higher handicappers some room for errors. With an excellent deal through Amazon, my dad and I played in typical Scottish weather for March, very wet, but this by no means damped our spirits when playing the course. Encouraged by the friendly professional in the pro shop, who was so kind as to offer us another round if we did not get the full 18 holes in because of the weather, we headed on our way and were extremely impressed with the course. The fairways and greens were in good condition and despite a couple of additional water hazards on the greens we had a excellent time making our way around the course, admiring the stunning views over Linlithgow and enjoying the next surprising dog leg we made our way around the course which ended with a lovely 130 yard par 3 18th hole, which looked simple enough, however with 4 bunkers at the front of the green and out of bounds at the back it was a wonderful finish to an excellent course. After the round we headed to the bar to get our free bacon rolls and coffee, that was included in the offer and had a chat with the staff, who informed us that the course was host to the Scottish junior open and through that the course was beginning to see an increase in visitors, which can only be good for any golf course in these difficult times. One small criticism, the signage for the course was quite poor which made it difficult to find but overall an excellent course, friendly staff, beautiful views and challenging holes this course has everything a keen golfer is looking for, I strongly recommend golfers who are visiting Scotland to find this course and give yourself a treat.
