Peebles Golf Club

What we say
The picturesque parkland layout was created by Harry Colt.
Peebles lies just over 20 miles south of Edinburgh, on the banks of the river Tweed, in the midst of the Scottish Border hills.
The town is an ancient Royal Burgh favoured by Scots kings. It is a peaceful place, ideal for walking, fishing and golfing. Peebles Golf Club was founded in 1892 although the present course was first opened in 1908. The original course on the SW boundary of the town can still be seen, in outline, for those interested in golfing history.
The present Kirklands course (6,138 yards, par 70) was remodelled in 1933/34 by Harry Colt, designer of, among many great courses, Wentworth, the New course at Sunningdale, Stoke Poges, the Eden Course at St. Andrews, Royal Portrush, some holes at Hoylake and Pine Valley, Philadelphia.
Peebles is a championship course, having played host in the past to the Scottish Girls Strokeplay Championship, and Scottish Boys Team Championship; and in 2006 hosted the Scottish Girls Amateur Championship. In June 2010 we shall host the Scottish Boys Area Team Championship

A sunny day in september, superb views , and a variety of golf holes would highly recommend to anyone, also highland games with war plane fly overs may make the review one sided but could not think of a negative thing to write.
