Glenisla Golf Course

Having recently invested in the course, particularly the now impressive greens, Glenisla Golf Course provides an interesting and different Scottish golfing experience.

The par 71 Perthshire course has become a well-presented and well-manicured course. This is one for golfers who are less able to walk the long distance of other courses, as its relatively flat terrain allows for an easy stroll from the first tee to the final hole.

Fairways are lush and greens are true, if a tad slow, but this is a nice course with some wonderful views of the surrounding acreage.

Low handicap golfers will enjoy some tricky par-3s, while some high handicap golfers may struggle with the par-5s, which, despite being relatively short in length, can be difficult to master on a breezy day.

Designed to offer a challenge to the more serious golfer off the back tees, the club golfer will find forgiveness for all but the most wayward shots from the forward tees.

The highly complimented golf course design is credited to Tony Wardle, who has worked alongside Robert Trent Jones and Jack Niklaus, incorporating terrain and natural hazards.

The golf course has a variety of holes which present different questions each time they are played.

  Have played it a couple of times now, it is improving and will be a cracker in a few years time, one monster par 5 and a great 18th stick in the mind, worth a trip, esp if you are up there looking for a non-name hidden gem.
