Dunblane Golf Club

What we say
An intriguing course with wonderful views of Dunblane and Ben Lomand in the distance, Dunblane New Golf Club boasts an enjoyable golfing experience across 5,964-yards of crisp, yet lush fairways, feeding into fast and true greens.
Generally playing uphill, hence longer, outbound, and downhill, hence shorter, coming back, this par 69 course is a good golfing test that asks for a wide variety of shots and good course management.
While the fairways may be forgiving with their wide landing zones, the rough is not. It’s density and thickness can penalise even the best players.
Perhaps the most demanding hole, the par-4 9th is 376-yards tee to green and features a dogleg right-to-left, with the green elevated high at the top of a hill with a large bunker guarding the front, waiting to swallow any poor club judgement or miss-hit shots.
The par-3 11th is arguably the Perthshire course’s signature hole, playing into a long, narrow green, well protected by bunkers and banking slopes on the right with a large tree on the left catching any players favouring a fade. Club selection is key here and is very dependent, not only on the weather conditions, but also on the day’s flag position. On a clear day you can drive towards the picturesque Ben Ledi mountain, framed by the trees lining the green.
Welcome to Dunblane New Golf Club - we are Dunblane "New" as we moved to our present site in 1923 from an older course in the Laighills on the other side of Dunblane.
Dunblane New was designed by Major Cecil Hutchison (the then Amateur Champion) and James Braid (the famous Open Champion and world renowned Course Architect)
The course is a parkland course with breathtaking views across picturesque Central Scotland.
It combines this with a true test of golf - for beginners and experts alike.
The course has been the choice for some prestigious events over the years including the Prudential, The Evening Times Foursomes, qualifying for the Scottish Championship, The Scottish Police Championship, County Championships, Junior Championship and Scottish Girls (Close) Championship, and a Pro-Am in 1977 in which forty professionals took part. David Huish of North Berwick won with our own professional, Bobby Jamieson, coming second.
