Culcrieff Golf Club

What we say
Although short by modern standards at around 5,000 yards, there are few courses in Perthshire as challenging as Culcrieff. The undulating, parkland course was resurrected from disuse in 1972 by famous Crieff professional John Stark and then extended to eighteen holes in 2002. The views are, quite simply, astounding and can surely not be bettered anywhere in Scottish golf.
The springy turf is perfect for iron play to the small, undulating greens, built to full USGA specifications. Highlights include the 2nd – a right to left dogleg to a sloping green protected by water, bunkers and trees; the 5th, which doglegs in the opposite direction and is a tough par 4; and the spectacular finishing 18th hole – a downhill, 212 yard par 3 immediately adjacent to the small, cosy clubhouse, which offers great food surrounded by those amazing views.
Within the grounds of the famous Crieff Hydro Hotel and within easy reach of championship golf at Gleneagles and Blairgowrie, Culcrieff is the perfect base for your golfing break in Scotland.

Parkland with stunning views of Ben Vorlich and Ben More. A good test for all Golfers.
Arriving at Culcrieff it's natural to take a deep breath and relax. And we wouldn't want it any other way.
In every direction you'll be astounded by the breathtaking views. The warmest of welcomes awaits you in our small but cosy clubhouse. The food on offer will satisfy the hungriest golfer. And, at under 5000 yards, the scorecard looks inviting too.
But don't be fooled.
There aren't many places in Scottish golf where the club player will have to work harder to play to his (or her) handicap.
The punitive rough and various out of bounds await to punish the reckless; but the thinking golfer (regardless of handicap) can usually negotiate his way safely onto the fairways of our testing course.
Finding the small greens, however, is no easy task and, in summer especially, their speed and undulations remind some of a links course - in the Perthshire highlands!

Scenery does not normally feature highly in playing golf but this scenery is truly spectacular and I live in the Lake District. Though not overly long it is to be treated with respect, you do not automatically pull out the big stick on all par 4s. The condition of the course (June 2015) is exceptional, the round tees are not easy to keep to such a high standard, the greens run true although the borrows have to read be carefully. The senior green keeper is very knowledgeable and real gentleman. We will be back. Thank you.
